Posted in Blogroll with tags ice, snow on February 1, 2010 by hifayThe snow stopped at about 8 inches here. I do not have to work today. It will be warmer later and all the snow and ice will melt.
Cats
Posted in Blogroll with tags cats on January 31, 2010 by hifayWe had the two cats, that was more that enough. One day a kitten came up, came in and decided we were nice, and knew the other cats did not really mean they did not like him with their snarling and growling, and moved in. Wilhelm was here several days when I heard a noise under the house, another kitten. He did not come in, was sure, I think, that we must be axe murders and those cats were going to tear him into little bits. He stayed under the house about a week. I put food out in the yard. One day he came in the house. We named him Jacob.
Will would walk with me. He could cover some ground and never get tired. Jacob stayed in the yard and waited for our return. They were both here long enough for me to have the Neuter Scooter cancel the appointment that I had waited a little too long to get in the first place. In desperation I drove them to a SPCA about an hour away on a Sat. morning waited in that area most of the day because I could not afford what the vet would charge to get them fixed.
One night about three months ago, Will went out. I was up late and I thought I heard a noise. I am not sure what it was. A car backfiring maybe. We have not seen Will since. I do not know if he got scared and ran and could not find his way home. I hope he is still alive, and that he found someone else he knew right off would feed him and be kind to him.
Jake stays in the house most of the time. I know he misses Will, so do I .
Can that date be right?
Posted in Blogroll with tags birds, jobs, snow on January 31, 2010 by hifayWow, has it been that long since I posted here? I guess so.
It is snowing here, 6 inches is a lot of snow for this area. The birds have been eating like birds in the cold and at the end of the day the feeder at the window was close to empty and a cardinal was looking in the window. I like to think he was wondering where I was, what the hell was wrong with me and why didn’t I get outside and put more food in the feeder right now.
I now have a full-time job. The good part is that I have insurance now.
The husband has a job now. The good part is that he has insurance.
The funny part is we can not afford to use it.
BUT (Yes the big but.) I think my job will be gone in about 6 or 7 months because of funding and his depends on the number of children so who knows.
An apple a day.
Posted in Blogroll with tags apples, birds, learning new tricks on September 10, 2008 by hifayMarshmallow Peep is a frumpy little bird that comes to the window to eat sunflower seeds. She would hang on the screen look at me and chirp. She did not fly away like the other birds. I got the feeling she was asking for something so I put pieces of apple in a little pocket in the storm windows that is there when the outer glass bottom is up.
Now when there is no apple Marshmallow Peep hangs on the screen and looks into the house and peeps until I go out and put apple slices in the little pocket.
Miss Peep has me well trained.
What to write?
Posted in Blogroll on August 18, 2008 by hifayI thought I would write about something every day and maybe I would feel better, but I really have nothing to write about. Now that my husband has decided he can not get a job and he is work once in a while at low paying sub jobs, but he still is spending to much money on things he wants, I am always mad at him and am not sure what is wrong with him.
I will have to find something else to write because it does not make me feel a bit better to write this. I think this is the way it will stay here. I will have to leave if I want anything to change.
I knew it all along.
Posted in Blogroll on August 15, 2008 by hifayI told the husband that the Career Switcher thing sounded to good to be true.
It does not help a bit that I told him so.
Life
Posted in Blogroll with tags jeans, jobs on August 12, 2008 by hifayThe high point of the last several weeks: I found a nice pair of jeans for 3.95 at one of the local thrift stores that are new and the legs are long enough.
The husband still has not found a job. This has been going on for over a year now. I am ready to throttle him and bury him in the back yard and plant corn over him.
I am going to try to write more. Maybe it will help the way I feel.
The end of the mice tales.
Posted in Blogroll with tags mice on April 18, 2008 by hifayAll our mice are dead. Thing One, one of the white mice we raised after his mother was killed by one of our cats, died about a month ago.
Silver Fish, the last of the females and B’s Brother, the last of the tan males, were in cages beside each other. They both died the same night about three weeks ago. Silver Fish got on her wheel and died there and B’s Brother died next to his. They had all three lived a long time. I will miss them.
I do not think I want another mouse to miss.
Job search.
